Link between investment and bankaccount

Post by Amazone »

I have different investment accounts.
Sometimes I have the same equity in several accounts.
This sometimes gives me problems when I book dividends because in MM the investment is linked to one account.

But : if Equity X is in account A and B and if I am booking in account B then it should be booked in account B and not in A as it sometimes happens now.
Even worse: I had equity X in A and B but sold it from account A. Still - if I am booking in account B - the dividend is booked in account A.
Microsoft Money would never let you book a dividend in an account when the equity is not in the account.
You get a warning : this equity is not in this account.

Even worse. I am booking in account A. I want to enter a dividend.
In the investment transaction screen the equity is linked to bankaccount C.
The investment was NEVER held in that account.
I have not booked in that account since 12/5 so it was not the last opened account.
I thought this had been corrected in the past.
If you are working in one account you should always get that account proposed.

Another thing that I think was corrected in the past and is not working anymore:
I start booking at date A.
This date should be proposed for the next entry.
I am now booking in my investments and date is changed to actual date after every entry.

The investments are held in investment accounts. Technically contributions, dividends and payouts can come from any other account. But I’ll have an in depth look at this and see if I can improve the suggested accounts.
