The account list is complete but shows all accounts with a zero balance despite appear to have all the actual account entries (including some that Money was failing to display which was the reason I finally got round to moving away from it!).
The investment portfolios are all showing but are empty.
I've just pushed an update with a few fixes to the MNY import. Can you let me know if that successfully loads your data file? If not, are you able to create an example file that fails that you can send me?
Oh, that's great news. If you can find out which investment activity in those 11 transactions didn't map properly, I'll get that fixed for the next iteration.
The headline balances on both investment accounts look correct.
Going into reports...
One portfolio (which is realised share options) shows the addition of the shares as "Cashflow" (which I'd expect to show as "Buy" or "Add") and then shows the sale of some shares as "Buy" which is the opposite of what it should be. Given the value of the portfolio looks correct, I'm guessing that might be an issue with the report or it could just be showing as the wrong type of transaction due to my version of Money being quite an old one (11.0 if that helps)
The other portfolio (which is for an investment ISA), has a purchase showing as "Cashflow" and several sales showing as "Buy".
What I can't see is any sign of anything that looks like it will have generated the compatibility errors unless it's the categorisation of some entries as cashflow rather than purchases and of some sales as purchases. The number of transactions doesn't quite add up for that but I guess it could be a subset.
So I believe activity 0 is a "buy" of an index. It's MS Money's way of creating a zero position in something to track, like an Index. So I think I can just map that to a normal Buy.
Anything that failed to match (i.e. the 11 transactions of activity type 15) will map to the default of Cashflow. Should all the transactions marked as Cashflow be assigned as Buys? I've tried to replicate this, but any time I add a buy in an ISA it comes out as activity type 1 rather than 15, which is a Buy.
I'm puzzled why Sales would be mapping to Buy though, as it picks up the explicit activity type from the MS database - or is it that the amounts are inverted?
If you are able to send me a sample, that would really help.
I have figured out the mystery activity types - it seems Microsoft changed the underlying values it assigned for activities between versions, so I will need to do a version-dependent mapping. This also explains why Sell transactions are being marked as Buy.
I should have an updated version some time next week.
Just got back from a holiday myself - good to know you've got a handle on what it is. Do you still need a sample file to work with or are you good now?
The mappings for MNY 2000 files were improved in the last update, v1.10.0.5. Let me know how you get on with that, or whether you can still see anything that doesn't look right.
