I have been working on getting my Investment Portfolios brought into the system. However i have a lot of stocks and each one has an extraordinary amount of dividend information as any of them have monthly dividends. I have taken the one that only have 50 or less entries and manually done it but i have quite a few with many hundreds of entries. Now the only way i can download the info form the vendor is via; CSV, JSON, XML. It would be great if i could import in one of these formats. Even if its CSV and i could just add the headings like date, activity, quantity, from, Investment, Price exc..
this would be a really big help.

Re: Investment Portfolio Import
Thanks for the suggestion. This one is definitely on the list, as it will open the door to importing from basically anything. But it's not a trivial change, as it will require a mapper, to map any column in the input source onto the appropriate property on the transaction.
In the meantime, I can suggest trying a CSV to QIF converter, such as this one. (Disclaimer, I haven't actually tried this, so please let us know if it works)

Re: Investment Portfolio Import
Seems like i can import the data but it goes into a cash account and i need to import into a portfolio or have the ability to move the data into a portfolio. Is there a way to do that?
I have also tried to import new transactions into my checking. When i do the only option i have it to pout it in a new account. The window doesn't show any of my current accounts. How do i fix that?
Also i don't see an export function.

Re: Investment Portfolio Import
If you take a look at Help - Importing Data and scroll to the bottom, it details how to import portfolio data. MS Money does this as two separate accounts, one for the holding data and one for the cash data.
So if it's holdings data (buys, sells, dividends etc) then you should be able to create a holdings account within the portfolio and import the data directly into this (drag and drop your QIF file onto the holdings transaction form)
If it's cash data (proceeds of sales or dividends etc) then you can import the cash account as a new account, then drag and drop the account on the portfolio within the accounts list. It should then merge this onto the cash account within the portfolio.
When it comes to importing, if you do this through the Import menu, it will show you a list of accounts of the same type. I.e. if it's a credit import it will only show credit accounts, if it's a cash account only cash accounts etc. You can explicitly drop the QIF into the account you want, and this is often the quickest way.
I haven't written the export feature yet, but it's on my list.
