What are your priorities?

Post by Campbell »

What are the areas of More Money that you would like me to focus on? What is important to you?

I am still using Microsoft Money. I bought it some 20 years ago and was always able to install it on my new pc's.
However something changed around a year/ 2 years ago. I read somewhere it has something to do with Internet Explorer being stopped.
I am desperately searching for a replacement.
I use it mainly to enter all my expenses on different bank accounts.
I also used it for investments but that is not essential.

I have started testing but have many issues.
I feel very stupid.
Already in the forum I see no option New post. Only Private messages. So I use the option to answer.

Importing the QIF file from money does not work. I could send you a QIF file with very little transactions and a screen copy of the account.

First issue I encounter: I enter bank accounts. I use cash. Is that correct?
Second an important issue: If I enter a number using the . from my numbers pad I get wrong numbers: 15.2 gives 152.00

I hid transaction details (using x) and could not get them back.
How do I save file without exiting?

Could you please first help me entering numbers?

I think that's just because the account starts off restricted. Once you've made a couple of posts are you able to create a new one?

Hmm, ok. I suspect this will be around date formats - QIF format have a lot of ambiguities. If you're able to send me a small sample that would be brilliant, thanks.

Yes, Cash just means standard account for tracking cash. So that could be current, savings, checking etc.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. So in the Transaction Details form you select into the Amount field and type 1 5 . 2, and it ignores the dot? What is your system locale? Do you use commas or points for the decimal place?

Ha, yeah, that's a known issue I haven't fixed yet. I'll add a menu option to get it back. But in the meantime, if you save, then restore, it should come back.

I tried entering numbers using the . with touch 2 and I constantly get error message I think because I am trying to change.
When I restart the program 12.00 with touch 2 gives 1200
Touch 3 - the , does not work

Ok, I can reproduce this. It's because your numeric format is Dutch, and so it's interpreting the dot as a thousands separator, and expecting a comma as a decimal point. I.e. 15.2 = 0.152,00 = 152. I'll get this fixed in the next release.

So it's interesting that your physical keyboard has a dot on the numeric keypad. Do you use this as a decimal place normally?

For now, you should be able to click the down arrow (which brings up the calculator). This should allow you to enter the decimal separator.

The latest release should hopefully allow you to enter values normally. Please let me know if this works.
