Installer
The main download now contains an installer, rather than the individual files. This consists of 2 files, MaximMoney.msi and setup.exe. You can usually run the msi file directly to install, but if you get errors (specifically 2502 and 2503 errors) then see the FAQ here.
The installer brings up a screen like so:
It will then allow you to specify the destination folder, which defaults to C:\Program Files\Maxim Money\
The benefits of running the installer are:
- It's easier as you don't have to manually copy any files
- It creates shortcuts on the desktop and start menu
- It associates *.mmy data files with Maxim Money, giving them an icon
- It ensures the Windings 2 and 3 fonts are installed (seems Windows 11 drops these)
Adding Scheduled Transactions
When adding a new Scheduled Transaction from a transaction, it will now bring up a form like so:
This allows you to set the frequency, next payment date etc at the point of setup, without having to go into Scheduled Transactions and edit it.
End Dates in Schedules
You may have also spotted in the above screenshot, you can now specify an end date for a schedule. You can either specify a number of entries, or an end date. Modifying either will update the other. Once a schedule reaches its end date, it will be removed.
Skipping Schedules
There is now the option to skip a scheduled transaction.
This will roll the next payment date over to the next calculated date and reduce the number of remaining entries, without adding it to your register. I actually changed the icon for Record, as the green arrow seemed more appropriate for skipping.
Minor Enhancements
- Next Payment Date recalculates when changing frequency when adding a schedule from an existing transaction
- When adding schedule from existing transaction, frequency is determined from past transactions
- Maxim Money can be launched directly from MMY data files, by double-clicking on them (assuming you've run the installer)
- The main application icon will change to € or $ if your base currency is set to one of those currencies. (If you also want to change the shortcut icon, you can select the MaximMoney.dll file, and you can select £, € or $ as the icon)
- Values are populated correctly in Portfolio Investment Accounts after adding transaction
- Fixed error in grid Paint (possibly just an issue if application was left open when PC went into Sleep mode)
