Untouched Scheduled transactions

Post by Campbell »

Currently, if you have a Scheduled transaction that is automatically added to your register, if you don't touch the transaction it will remain as "Scheduled". In my own usage, I will normally either make some modification to the transaction, which will change it to Manual, or I will reconcile it against a bank import, at which point it will become Reconciled. However, there are instances where neither of these things happen, and the transaction will just remain as Scheduled.

It doesn't really make sense for this to happen - Scheduled just means this is the "expected" transaction, and there should be some sort of confirmation to say yes, that was correct. However, I don't want to do anything automated that would conflict with any manual checking.

So I wondered if perhaps I should auto-change these to Manual if the scheduled transaction is untouched and perhaps aged by a week? Maybe I could make this a system setting, for how many days aged it should be before changing from Scheduled to Manual?

Thoughts?

Sorry for late reaction. I am getting no notifications.
I saw there was a new build and came to look.
I am absolutely against auto-change of a scheduled transaction. I enter all transactions manually so if I haven't entered it it is because the transaction did not take place. It would be the same if you import transactions from the bank. If it hasn't been imported it was not executed so why would you book it????
French and Belgian taxes sometimes come much later than they are scheduled. I have them as scheduled because I like to see when they have not been payed.
