It seems Yahoo have changed something on their API which has stopped the price downloads from working. Unlike Kraken and Polygon, Yahoo is not a supported API, so it may take a little while to figure out what they’ve changed and how I can get it working again.

So you can only update crypto investments?

What about google finance? I use that more often than Yahoo.

I have worked with several programs that promised online updates. They all never showed all my equities/funds and they all stopped working in the end.
I have given up on them since years.
I download the prices every last Sunday of the month from my different bank accounts as excel files and then enter them manually.
It would be a great help if you could import the prices from excel files.

I've figured out a solution to the Yahoo API. They've introduced what's called TLS fingerprinting, in an attempt to prevent applications from using their API, so I've had to introduce a different method to download. The good news is it works, for now.

Unfortunately the Google Finance API was also discontinued, so would have to jump through similar hoops in order to obtain that data.

I plan to introduce more supported APIs in due course. Once there are enough to give full coverage then I will probably remove the Yahoo one, but it's a very useful one to have at the moment as it has very good coverage.

Many of the online pricing APIs offer paid services (giving options such as more frequent and intra-day pricing). I'm happy to link into these if it would be of use, but at the moment I'm focussing more on free services as I think that's what most people would be looking for.

Importing prices from spreadsheet wouldn't be too difficult per se, but the main problem is writing a mapper, so you could specify how your data should be interpreted, and that would be quite time consuming due to the complexity.

Alternatively I could enable a way to import data in a fixed format if you think that would be useful?

Yes I imagine it would be complex to just download the data in excel.
My different banks use different formats.
For each bank I first change the excel file to this format:
Name of equity (not the symbol some banks do not have these in their list) - Currency - number of equities - prices - total worth in €.
The last column (total price) would not have to be imported as MM works with portefolio in different currencies
