Import from MS Money - Payee/variation issue

[FYI this is my first post, so let me know if I can improve anything for future posts]

Definitions:
MSM = MSMoney
MM = Maxim Money

After importing my MSM DB (26-year history with 273 accounts and 71k+ transactions), MM imported MSM payees + MSM payee-name-variations as *separate* MM payees, rather than MM payees + MM payees-with-aliases, ref screenshot. Can the import be modified to process MSM Payee-Variation mappings as MM Payee-Alias mappings? Otherwise it'll take days to sift through the post-import payee spaghetti in MM.

Appreciate it. Not to rush, but curious where this lies in your list of open items? I'm chomping at the bit to migrate off MSM, and MM seems the most viable option available. But having to sift through 17276 payees after migrating doesn't sound appealing lol.
