I do not use MM much for my regular accounts (expenses and income). If you enter a payee you enter category and subcategory and this stays linked to the payee.
I mostly use MM for my investments.
We in Belgium pay a lot of taxes on them. We pay the taxes of the emitting country and our own 30%.
I used to enter the taxes in memo. Example : 15% + 30% (US)
So as not to have to enter this each time I created categories:
Dividends 30%
Dividends 15% + 30%
......
I thought the category would remain linked to the investment.
I now discovered it isn't.

Hi. Yes, I hadn't considered this. So you would like it to automatically assign the category on the Cash side of the transaction of any investment transaction that was last used for that transaction type on that investment?
