Latest Update

Post by Frelon »

The latest update to Maxim Money 1.8 has not been notified to me automatically when opening Maxim Money!

Previous updates warned me when opening MM! Is there something I need to do to get my software updated to the latest version (which looks very good BTW)?

Do you have the Check for new version on startup checkbox ticked in Settings?

There were some problems with the server earlier (which should now be resolved). It's possible that it didn't respond properly when you last started up.

I should have added, you can always download the latest version from here if the auto-update doesn't work.

It worked for me but I had problems with the forum yesterday. All is OK today

Try restarting the application again. If it doesn't work, it may be the case that something is blocking the lookup (adaptive firewall perhaps?)

I downloaded the zip file and fired it up! It then appeared to download the .NET 10 file and during this process and then shut down my PC and restarted!

I allowed it to restart and just assumed this was part of the installation process! After a lengthy delay I fired up MM and was immediately notified that a new version of MM (ver1.8) was available, do I want to install it! I was then warned of the need to download .NET 10 runtime, so went ahead and installed it!

After that Maxim Money ver 1.8 was alive and well!

Just an FYI Campbell, the update looks good, well done!

That sounds pretty convoluted. Was the version you downloaded in the zip 1.8 or earlier? It should have been the latest, but if it was I can't think why it would have said there was an update.

These were the files in the zip!

I selected the setup.exe file, should I have selected the MaximMoney.msi file?

After the PC was restarted I assumed that MM had been updated to 1.8. However, on firing up MM I was notified that the update was available and did I want to download it!!

Bizarre, but all is working well after I followed the download instructions!

All the setup.exe is, is a shell for the msi file. I have no idea why it's so big, it's a Microsoft thing! But those contents are definitely the latest version.

The other possibility is that you have multiple copies on your machine.

But regardless, I'm glad it's all working now.
