Import OFX files

Hello,

Could it be possible to import .OFX files in the next versions?

Many banks still offer account extract with these files and it would be kinda useful to validate your account balance in MoreMoney.

Hi,

OFX should already be supported. You just need to drag and drop your OFX file onto either the Accounts list, or the transactions view in an Account.

Are you having issues importing?

There are two things to consider here:
[*]That's more an enhancement, but it would be great to have an "import OFX" option somewhere in the GUI. Drag'n'drop is not always the first option that comes in mind of users
[*]The drag'n'drop option does not work for me. If I drag an OFX file into the Transactions tab, it throws this error:

Here is an extract of the OFX file i'm trying to import. I can provide a more revelant file if needed.

Note : when having this error, it blocks many things on the computer, like some options of the explorer, but i'm not sure that's related to the MoreMoney app or more a consequence of the error windows. This is a minor error.

[IMPORTANT] Note 2 : i'm using the v1.0.1.0, as I cannot start the latest version.

Thanks. I agree, I'm planning to add an Import (and Export) option on the File menu, as the drag/drop isn't intuitive unless you know it's there.

Regarding the error, I think you must have quite an early version of OFX file that I haven't coded for (the specification changed for OFX over time). Can you let me know which version you have (it should say in the headers) and if you're able to, a sample file would be really useful so I can check it works (I understand this might not be possible, so I might be able to find a sample elsewhere if I know the version)

I've uploaded a new version of More Money, so v1.1.0.2 should hopefully be able to load your OFX file correctly. Please let me know how you get on.

With the latest version (1.1.0.2), I don't have any error message while drag'n'dropping OFX files.

However, nothing happens now. You could drag it as many times as you want, there will be nothing.

Also, there's no error in the event viewer. I'll send you a sample for investigations.

I'm using an OFX version 102 as stated in the header:

Thanks for the sample. I've now got this loading ok - was simply that the date format was different in your file to previous examples I've seen. Will put up a new release soon with this fix.
