Search should include Memo

I will now use More Money for all my investment activities. It works fine. Just need reports but if I get them end of the ear it will be OK.
For my normal accounts I am still waiting. Reports here are not that urgent but what I need very often is searching for a transaction.
Microsoft Money has the option Advanced search. This resembles the search in your program.
It also has a "Simple search" where you can search or a text in any text field.
I use this quite a lot.

I agree, I've had a couple of instances where I wanted to search for a memo but couldn't.

Do you think it would be better for the search textbox on the initial tab also searched memos, or would it be better to have an explicit filter for this on the filter tab?

Microsoft Money has an explicit filter "simple search" where you can search for any text field.
I would have said it makes no difference but then I sometimes use it to search for a Ref number.
So maybe better a separate filter where you can search for any text.

Looking back at your program I see another one missing. This one I also use very often - search an amount.

This is the Search facility of another financial package - labelled Find!

Lots of variables there, inlcuding Memo!

Maxim Money now includes both Memo and Reference when typing into the main search field. But I haven’t yet implemented explicit search on those fields.

I will be revamping search soon though, and will be making search and reporting much more powerful/flexible.
